Capital Rocks, a fundraising event held by Capital FM in aid of Help a Capital Child, saw presenters, celebrities and supporters take to the red carpet at Camden’s Roundhouse. The incredible event was hosted by Ultimate Experience. Presented by Dave Berry, Lisa Snowdon and Greg Burns, the evening featured live performances by some of the country’s favourite acts.
750 specially invited guests enjoyed fantastic food by Create, cocktails and Champagne at the unique Roundhouse, which made a fitting setting for this starstudded event. The striking Grade II listed building has become synonymous with live music and the arts in recent years, having hosted some of the world’s most acclaimed musicians from Jimi Hendrix and The Doors to Pink Floyd.
The event made full use of the dramatic Main Space of the Roundhouse, setting the scene for a series of live music performances. Acts included Lawson, Labrinth and headline act Olly Murs who got everyone on the dance floor with an explosive performance.
The evening proved a huge success, raising £400,000 for Help a Capital Child. The money is to be used to fund specialist teenage cancer units, drastically improving the quality of life and survival chances of young people affected by cancer.
John Stratton, Head of Appeals & Special Projects, Global Charities said: “We’re still counting the money, but so far we’ve made over £401,500 for Help a Capital Child from the event – money that will be used to support young people living with cancer. This is an incredible result. I’ve received nothing but compliments for how professional the stage show element of the event looked, and I was incredibly impressed with how smoothly it all went.”
