Sunday 23rd November saw the annual British Academy Children’s Awards take place at the Roundhouse.
The event was a celebration of the best in children’s film, television and games, and the talented people behind them. Hosted by Doc Brown, the ceremony’s presenters included Samantha Barks, Sharleen Spiteri, Bernard Cribbins, Myleene Klass, Emma Bunton, Jamal Edwards, James Norton, Simon Webbe and Malorie Blackman.
The team behind Katie Morag won two BAFTAs, for drama and for performer. Cherry Campbell took home the BAFTA for her portrayal of the title role, the actress is the youngest BAFTA winner ever at nine years old. Other winners included double-act Dick & Dom - Richard McCourt & Dominic Wood, Kindle Entertainment Ltd, Cartoon Network, CITV’s Share a Story and more.
The ceremony also awarded the winners of the BAFTA Kids’ Vote. Following over 200,000 votes cast by seven - 14 year olds, the winners were Frozen (Feature Film), Jessie (Television), Minecraft (Game) and Bin Weevils (Website).
