Virginia Food and Drink with Tom Kerridge

In order to showcase the bountiful produce of the US state of Virginia, OXO2 hosted an event, attended by leading media and travel trade partners.

The blank canvas space of OXO2 was themed to match the black, white and red heart of the ‘Virginia is for Lovers’ logo.

On arrival guests were offered a glass of Trump sparkling wine, before the explored six tasting stations offering a wide selection of Virginia wines, ales and ciders.

VIP guests included wine expert Oz Clarke, actress Sarah Parish, actor Charlie Condou, LBC radio host Nick Ferrari and leading British cyclist Mark Cavendish.

Two-Michelin star chef Tom Kerridge designed a Virginia-inspired menu, which featured the following dishes: dark ale-braised lamb spare ribs, cider-pickled British hand-dived scallops, black treacle pulled beef brisket, venison chilli con carne, sticky malt-glazed pig cheeks, asparagus and cheddar pastry tart and chocolate, orange zest and peanut mousse with frosted peanuts and grated dark chocolate.

Speeches were given by Rita McClenny, President and Executive Officer VTC, secretary Maurice Jones, secretary Todd Haymore, and the Governor, who gave a rousing and amusing speech before showing a short film about Virginia.

Following the speeches, Chef Tom Kerridge spoke to guests about the menu and his thoughts behind each of the dishes.
