As the Great British summer draws to a close we’re looking back on a season of sumptuous street food served at summer parties across the capital
Create Food & Party Design took inspiration from London’s emerging street food scene, creating an unusual mix of summer dishes from beer can chicken and paella to authentic pizzas with the finest of toppings.
A touch of theatre was added to the Edelman summer party, with moules marinière being made in front of guests in the gardens of Bedford Square for a fresh take on event catering which fitted perfectly with the evening’s whimsical theme.
In July guests of Jarvis Woodhouse got involved in the foodie fun with a ‘build your own burrito’ stall complete with sizzling pans of beef and chipotle chilli with all the trimmings - even marinated cactus! Those who weren’t feeling the Mexican flair though could head over to a pop-up American diner, where a selection of gourmet hot dogs were ready for customisation. Our personal favourite was a beef dog with smoked pork belly, creamed corn sour cream, onion salsa and Jack Daniel’s barbecue chilli glaze!
Asian street food also proved a popular choice. At The Pavilion at the Tower of London lucky guests tucked into slow roasted pulled pork belly, crispy tempura vegetables and noodles. The perfect indulgence for a summer’s night.
Create are already hard at work on inspiring street food menus for summer parties in 2014, we can’t wait to see what they’ve got in store!
