The Bar List: April 2015

Our guide to the best new openings in London for April.

SINGER TAVERN, CITY EC1
5CC has sneaked a sixth hidden bar into London's speakeasy scene, opening Singer Tavern in Shoreditch two minutes from Old Street station. Hidden in the basement, this decadent den oozes style and sophistication with a vintage interior and a sea of expertly mixed, innovative cocktails for the most refined of palates.

LONDON GRIND, LONDON BRIDGE SE1
London Grind is an all day and late night Espresso Bar, Kitchen and Cocktail Bar on the iconic London Bridge, next door to Borough Market. Sitting riverside at the iconic address of 2 London Bridge, London Grind finds inspiration in Melbourne, the brunch capital of the world, and produce in the bustle of Borough Market, on its doorstep.

THE WOODSTOCK KUSHIYAKI BAR, MAYFAIR W1
The Woodstock Kushiyaki Bar brings the feel of Japanese Izakaya to the capital. Adjacent to Oxford Street, the bar serves an extensive Japanese led drinks menu and freshly made Kushiyaki and Kushiage skewers, in a relaxed environment. The concept is based on the pubs and bars found in Japan, acting as a ‘pit-stop’ for a ‘pint and skewer’ before heading home after work.

DEMON & WISE, CITY EC2
Demon, Wise & Partners is a classic cocktail bar beneath The Arbitrager in the heart of The City of London. The top floor, The Arbitrager, has got a modern pub kind of feel and sells London-brewed beers and London-stilled spirits only. Downstairs, at Demon, Wise & Partners is where you’ll find the cocktails.

LONDON COCKTAIL CLUB, ISLINGTON N1
London Cocktail Club has launched its latest establishment farther north, in Islington. The standout feature is the “Apothecary Off License & Tasting Room”: take part in apothecary master-classes and creating your own medicinal marvel.  Then take your preferred prescription home, with copious bitters, liqueurs, fragrances and vermouths available to purchase.
