Create were once again on board the glorious Cutty Sark on the 11th June for a reception for 350 in partnership with Eventful. The premise of the evening was to provide guests with a delicious array of canapés and food stalls with a quintessentially British theme. The post conference event had an international audience, so it was a great opportunity for create to show off the best of British cuisine.
Staff wore waistcoats and tweed caps to add to the authenticity of the experience, and the food stalls and bars were built with rustic barrels and old wine boxes. create pride themselves on a heavenly British afternoon tea with a twist, so of course this had to feature on the menu. An eclectic mix of cake stands and pedestals were full to the brim with afternoon tea mini bites, including strawberry and peach summer crumble tarts topped with crème patissiere, blueberry and lemon Battenberg cake, mini Victoria sponges and meringues filled with vanilla cream and summer fruits.
Canapés made the most of fine seasonal produce. These included summer pea twice baked soufflé, rare roasted fillet of beef and a more elegant take on the old favourite - cheese and pineapple. There were also food stations featuring traditional British favourites such as freshly baked pies, sausage and mash and ‘posh fish and chips’.
