The vast space of Old Billingsgate was put to full use when it came to a recent event for retail giant Tesco. The brand needed a versatile space to accommodate 350 guests for a daytime conference and evening dinner, where Tesco’s ingredients would be the star of the show.
The event, held in conjunction with Capita Travel and Events, began with the space being presented in cabaret style, for presentations and feedback on new products. Guests then adjourned to a nearby hotel whilst the venue was transformed into the perfect setting for an evening dinner party.
Create worked closely with Tesco to devise a bespoke menu using ingredients from Tesco’s ‘Finest’ range. The final six course tasting menu allowed each of Tesco’s ingredients to shine, and included dishes such as ‘Tesco Keralan spiced rubbed cod with Tesco basmati rice, fresh Tesco chilli oil and coriander chutney’ and ‘Tesco Finest Raspberry and Kirsch Champagne jelly with raspberry curd and toasted almonds’.
