The Venue at the Royal Liver Building welcomed VIPs on Saturday evening for a ‘VERY VIP Event,’ part of Culture Liverpool events The Very Big Catwalk and Very Big After Party.
A star-studded guest list included Christopher Biggins, Liz McClarnon, Lauren Pope, Rochelle Humes, Paul Ince, John Barnes, Angelica from CBBC, the Liverpool Lord Mayor and Lee Stafford.
Guests arrived for a reception before the VERY Catwalk show began on Pier Head. The record-breaking catwalk show included over 5,000 models, who strutted their stuff on the biggest catwalk the world has ever seen. Guests took in the sights as they enjoyed drinks on our open-air terrace.
A carnival atmosphere delighted the folk that walked the runway and the friends and family who were there to cheer them on. It all took place right in front of the Royal Liver Building, a symbol of the city’s commercial prestige.
Guests enjoyed catering from our caterer Dougherty and Allen. On the menu were canapés such as potted shrimp, caramelised goat’s cheese, miniature fish pie, cottage pie and lemon, garlic and thyme marinated chicken skewers.
The venue’s separate rooms were themed with flags and furnishings including poseur tables and stools, with the Bridal Suite being used as an extra special VIP room for esteemed guests. Sofa zones were set up throughout one room for interviews to take place, with press guests making full use of the back of house areas for TV interviews.
The evening ended with images being projected onto the iconic Royal Liver Building.
Culture Liverpool said: “Thank you for your energy and your commitment to an event that will long live in the memory of so many people and allowed the great and the good to participate in proving to the rest of the world just what a wonderful City we live in.”
