Concerto’s expertise in integrated events was all too clear in 2012 when we contributed to the greatest show on Earth, the Olympic Games. Throughout the event we were responsible for a huge number of events for athletes, organisers and visitors, as well as providing staffing, catering, entertainment and production for Olympic events all over the capital.

Our highlights include helping Team Japan achieve their highest ever medal count, with Ultimate Experience and Fullcircle creating an essential training facility for the team in Stratford. The two divisions worked together to convert Stratford Circus Conference Centre in a £1m project which was delivered faultlessly.

We also fuelled the games, in particular the lucky members of Team USA, who enjoyed breakfast, lunch and dinner courtesy of Create Food & Party Design. Create and Concerto Live also worked together to deliver the public and private catering for Sochi.Park and Russia.Park - we can’t be accused of picking favourites!

Over on the Olympic Park, Create and LOLA Staffing supported our partners Smart Hospitality and Angela Hartnett at the Olympic Hospitality Centre catering for the International Olympic Committee and a huge number of Olympic Sponsors.

Two spectacular pop-ups were created for London 2012 by Fullcircle and Ultimate Experience. The Camden Centre became House of Nations King’s Cross, whilst The Pavilion at the Tower of London was transformed into House of Nations Tower of London. During the games these venues welcomed over 30,000 people who enjoyed the full Olympic experience with giant screens, the Olympic torch, fantastic food and drink as well as entertainment provided by Eventwise. The concept was by far the most successful ‘non-accredited’ House, comfortably attracting more guests than any other pop-up facility.

Our bespoke specialists of Mask Events transformed Standard Chartered’s office into an Office Stadium for the duration of the Games, enabling all their employees to enjoy the atmosphere and engage with London 2012.

Our venue finding team also got involved, helping to secure ‘Houses’ in London for France, Japan, Korea, Romania, Austria, Austria Paralympics and Georgia. Concerto Live looked after the Istanbul 2020 Bid Team throughout their stay in London and carried on throughout the Paralympics, and OXO2 set up a great bar/café on the South Bank.

Other events which saw the full might of the Concerto Group come together include a truly British experience, created by Mask Events. This four-day experience showcased London’s landmarks with a jam-packed schedule of incredible events over four days, and was attended by guests and alumni of a top US University. Held in some of London’s most exclusive spaces, the event featured a drinks reception within the Victoria & Albert Museum’s dramatic Dome, as well as a presentation in the Raphael Gallery and a visit to the museum’s highly acclaimed David Bowie exhibition - and much more.

This year we’ll be hosting the American Association of Orthodontists, who will be welcomed to the UK with the full Concerto experience, including social programmes, an unforgettable dinner at the Natural History Museum, a full schedule of entertainment and a show-stopping party at iconic City venue Old Billingsgate.
