Recipe: Rhubarb, Orange and Pomegranate Juice

Create’s wintry juice recipe is sure to put a spring in your step. It’s positively brimming with the good stuff.

Rhubarb’s about as low in calories as any vegetable, with only 21 calories per 100g. But it’s also a powerhouse of vitamin A, which will your skin looking fresh as a daisy.

Pomegranates are the most powerful antioxidant of all the fruits, they’ll lower your blood pressure and support your immune system too.

And the orange? Well that’ll supply all the vitamin C you could ever need. Not to mention being downright delicious.

That’s right, this is a true super juice. It’ll quash those coughs and colds in the tastiest of ways. Here’s how to make one.


500g rhubarb, washed, trimmed and cut into 1-inch lengths
150ml water
50g agave natural sugar
¼ inch of peeled ginger
250ml fresh pomegranate juice
30ml strained orange juice


1. Place the rhubarb, ginger, water and sugar in a saucepan and bring to a boil over moderate heat. Cover, reduce the heat to low, and simmer for 15 minutes.
2. Strain the juice through a fine sieve resting. Discard the pulp.
3. Add the remaining ingredients to the liquid and cool to room temperature.

Chill well and serve over crushed ice or in chilled glasses.
