The Bar List: August 2015

We've been out and about in search of the best new openings and hidden gems in London. Here's our pick of the best bars to try this month.

Situated in the entertainment district of The O2, NY-LON will offer a new destination for less formal business meetings, as well as a base for employee and corporate entertaining, social events and parties. The lounge has capacity for a maximum of 300 guests and features a large bar and seating area. In addition there is a discreet private event space for smaller occasions.

The rooftop bar at NYC Gansevoort Hotel in the super cool Meatpacking district is all breathtaking views, beautiful people and party cocktails. The good news is they’re planning to recreate this vibe (complete with the rooftop pool!) in their upcoming Shoreditch hotel, due to open later this year.

The guy who brought us Wax Jambu is opening a multi-level venue and bringing drinking, dining and a cosy fireplace to North London. With artisan ales, local beers, premium spirits and hand forged cocktails, along with a tasty grill menu and sharing boards, this place sounds much cosier than the name implies!

Midnight Apothecary: a summery campfire cocktail bar on the rooftop of London’s Brunel Museum (overlooking the Thames) where, when possible, ingredients are picked from the very same garden you can sit in whilst toasting marshmallows over an intimate fire and listening to live music.
